GENRAL LEDGER ACCOUNTANT

Job Description

The General Ledger Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, preparing financial statements, and supporting month-end and year-end closing processes. This role ensures the integrity of the company’s financial data and compliance with accounting standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain general ledger entries in accordance with accounting principles.

  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations.

  • Assist with the month-end and year-end close processes.

  • Review and analyze financial data for accuracy and completeness.

  • Prepare financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

  • Monitor and correct journal entries as needed.

  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.

  • Maintain proper documentation and filing systems for all accounting processes.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Proven experience as a General Ledger Accountant or similar accounting role.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS).

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, Oracle, Sage).

  • Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas).

  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Professional certification (ACA, ACCA, CPA) is an added advantage.
