Job Description
The General Ledger Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, preparing financial statements, and supporting month-end and year-end closing processes. This role ensures the integrity of the company’s financial data and compliance with accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare and maintain general ledger entries in accordance with accounting principles.

Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations.

Assist with the month-end and year-end close processes.

Review and analyze financial data for accuracy and completeness.

Prepare financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

Monitor and correct journal entries as needed.

Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.

Maintain proper documentation and filing systems for all accounting processes.

Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Proven experience as a General Ledger Accountant or similar accounting role.

Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS).

Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks, Oracle, Sage).

Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas).

Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.

Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.

Professional certification (ACA, ACCA, CPA) is an added advantage.
